A grace‐filled culture
of care for students
Founded in 1997 with just 26 enthusiastic Kindergarten to Year 4 students, the College began its journey under the capable leadership of its Foundation Principal, Mr Cockrem, and the guidance of the Anglican Schools Corporation and School Council, with strong support from the Oakhurst Anglican Church.
Today, the College is a vibrant community serving over 1,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. In line with the Corporation's commitment to expanding Christian education in Western Sydney, we launched a new campus in Marsden Park in 2016 which has since been able to emerge as an independent College within the Anglican Schools Corporation in 2024.
Named after Rev. Richard Johnson, the first Anglican minister to arrive with the First Fleet in 1788, RJ College honours his dedication to spreading the Christian message and fostering community growth. We strive to follow his legacy by being a beacon of Christian values and offering exceptional educational opportunities to families in Western Sydney.
First Nations Respect
We acknowledge the Dharug people, as the traditional custodians of the land on which our College stands. We pay our respect to their elders, past and present, and with gratitude we pray that God will unite us all, in a knowledge of his Son, through whom all things were created.
Our Mission and Values
Our College is committed to nurturing a caring and dynamic Christian educational community centered on the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our aim is to inspire academic excellence and personal growth for every student.
Our Emblem
The College logo features a tree, symbolising the growth and maturity we encourage in each student, and a Bible, signifying the firm foundation of our values in Christ.
Governance and Leadership
Owned by the Anglican Schools Corporation, RJ College benefits from strategic oversight by a dedicated College Council of experienced volunteers. The day-to-day operations, including educational programs, staffing, and enrolments, are managed by the Principal.
